Visual Activist, Writer, and Cultural Worker

Working at the intersection of photography, writing, research, and nonprofit cultural work.

Through documentary image-making, critical analysis, and collaborative arts practice, Silverstein explores how storytelling shapes memory, belonging, and access. Much of her work centers communities navigating systems shaped by systemic racism, class inequity, displacement, and cultural erasure.

Her practice is grounded in relationship, active listening, and community engagement. Whether through birth photography, critical writing, or nonprofit leadership, she is interested in the ways art can function as archive, witness, and collective care.

She currently works with:

  • An intersectional arts and healing justice space in Los Angeles

  • An intergenerational arts nonprofit rooted in community creativity and family-centered arts education.
